PRESS RELEASE Supreme Council Confers Upon Sir Jun Saez the Rank of Knight Grand of Rizal By Tom Rodriguez At the 24th International Assembly of the Knights of Rizal held on Feb. 6-8, 2025 at the Waterfront Hotel – Lahug Cebu City, Philippines, The Supreme Council conferred to Sir Frandioben “Jun” Saez, the fourth degree with the rank of Knight Grand Officer of Rizal (KGOR). The Knights of Rizal is a civic and patriotic organization that was established by law (Rep. Act 646) as an instrumentality by which the teachings of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, may be propagated among the Filipino people and others so that, through his inspired ideals and examples, they may emulate and follow his greatness. Any Knights of Rizal or any person who has performed an outstanding achievement for the Order or the country may be conferred the degree of Knight Grand Officer of Rizal by the Supreme Council. The Knights of Rizal of Central Visayas Region led by Sir Edison A. Delos Angeles, KGOR was the host of the 24th International Assembly with the theme “LAMPARA NG PAGKAKAISA: IGNITING RIZALIAN PATH TO A PERFECT NATIONAL UNION.” The Supreme Council Officers for the Rizalian year 2023-2025 are Sir Raaymundo A. Del Rosario,KGCR Supreme Commander, Sir Allan Rellon, KGOR Deputy Supreme Commander, Sir Mark Roy L. Boado, KGOR, Supreme Chancellor, Sir Joel V. Tuplano, KGOR, Supreme Pursuivant. Sir Frisco S. San Juan, KGOR, Supreme Exchequer, Sir Meliton V. Garraton, KGCR, Supreme Auditor, Sir Arnold R. Villafuerte, KGCR, Supreme Archivist & Overseas Representative, Sir Jose Vicente B. Salazar, KGOR, Deputy Supreme Pursuivant, and Sir Rafael Cresencio C. Tan, KGOR, Deputy Supreme Exchequer. Sir Dr. Jun Saez is the CEO/Administration/Senior PT Supervisor at Acura Rehabilitation Services, LLC dba On Call Therapy Associates OCTA in 2010 to the present. He was the chapter commander of the Arizona Knights of Rizal in 2016-2019. He finished his Doctor of Physical Therapy at Utica University, New York on June 12, 2021, and Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy at De La Sale University – Health Science Campus on April 15, 1995. On August 25, 2024, Zone 35, LLC, a newly organized company which is owned by Jun Saez produced the highly acclaimed Marcelito Pomoy concert held at the Highley Center for the Performing Arts in Gilbert, Arizona. The audience, which was composed of about 600 shouted on top of their voices and raising their hands in great appreciation of the super performance of Marcelito Pomoy – the internationally renowned artist with a magical dual voice. The vision of Sir Jun Saez to have a project to beautify the Buhi Rizal Park in Camarines Sur for better public usage – followed by a determination to raise funds to achieve this noble goal – came the idea of presenting it to the Arizona Knights of Rizal – as one of its objectives to accomplish. From the Knights of Rizal perspective, Sir Jun Saez was inspired to rehabilitate the Ultimo Adios shrine of Dr. Rizal in Buhi Municipal Park, and this project produced by Zone 35 Prouction in cooperation with the Arizona Knights of Rizal was indeed a remarkable success. Sir Jun Saez previously received three outstanding awards from the Supreme Council, namely: The Distinguished Service Medal, which he received during the celebration of the birth anniversary of Dr. Rizal held at the Hilton Phoenix Airport on June 19,2016; the Distinguished Service Star which he received on June 24, 2017 during the celebration of the birth of Dr. Rizal held at the Hilton Phoenix Airport, and the Distinguished Service Cross which he also received during the celebration of the birth of Dr. Rizal on June 19, 2019. In conferring the second highest degree with the rank of KGOR, the Supreme Council considered the following accomplishments among other things that Sir Jun Saez had performed such as – he devoted tremendous amount of personal time in the AZKOR fund raising venture at the Gila River Arena from Sept. 2016 to April 2017 - the funds raised were used for various AZKOR activities and projects that were implemented in 2017 to 2018 and beyond. The fund raising netted almost $14,189.80. He Successfully raised funds for AZKOR through Ads solicitation during the 2016 Commanders Ball amounting to $1,000. He Organized and implemented the first AZKOR Family picnic and Team Building Activity on April 29, 2017. Assisted in paying the fees and dues to the International headquarters for the newly organized chapter, the Knights of Rizal White Mountain in Arizona; and brought all the uniforms, insignia, medallion, oath of office to the U.S. so that the knighting, and exaltation ceremonies scheduled on October 26, 2024 was fulfilled accordingly. During his incumbency as chapter commander of AZKOR, another fund raising event took place, entitled, ‘Pilita Corrales – A Million Thanks to You, “ which was held in February, 2018. This concert netted about $7,815.05 exclusively to be used for the construction of Dr. Rizal’s monument. The bust of Dr. Rizal is temporarily housed at the Philippine Community Center until a permanent venue is found. Successfully co-produced the Calamba 1888, a stage play portraying Dr. Rizal’s heroim, bravery and patriotism on Feb. 12, 2017. Devoted valuable time during the promotion and implementation of the film showing projects namely: The Life Story of Rizal on June 19, 2016 during the celebration of Rizal’s birthday with free admission to the public; and the Heneral Luna movie on October 23, 2016 shown during the Asian Heritage Celebrations, both of which were carried out in compliance with KOR’S objective in propagating the ideals and heroism of Dr. Jose Rizal to the Fil-Am community in Arizona. In granting the promotion, the Supreme Council also considered Sir Jun Saez current community achievements or contributions: He is the founder of East Valley Tennis Club, an aggrupation of Fil-Am Tennis enthusiast in AZ, promoting sports and physical fitness activities. Founder and organizer of the yearly of JUNS Cup Tennis Tournament which is a charity sports activity with the objective to raising funds to help the impoverished school children. Sir Jun is an active member of Barangay Lions Club of Arizona. He is married to Danjela “Anjie” L. Saez, a registered nurse who holds a degree pf Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Universidad de Santa Isabel in 1999. She is currently employed as a staff nurse at Banner Estrella Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona.
